9. Back it up

Now that you have added dozens of automated paragraphs to your AutoCorrect database, you need to back it up. You may also want to move your customized program to other computers. Both of these tasks are as simple as moving a single file, the Normal.dotm file.

The Normal.dotm file is found in a hidden location in Windows. To find it, follow these commands:

1. Press Windows Key + R (Opens the run dialogue box)
2. Type the following: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates (replace [Username] with the username that you used to log into Windows) 
3. Click OK
4. The Normal.dotm file is listed as "Normal" in this folder.
5. Copy and paste that file to any location you wish to back it up.

To move your report writing program to another computer, simply overwrite the Normal file in the same location on the new machine with the Normal file that contains your AutoCorrect database.
